8 regular toxic foods for birds

Today I am going to tell you about some foods that some people like to give their birds unaware of the toxicity. We all love our birds but, sometime we forget that they are not human and we give them some foods that are suitable for us but not for them resulting serious health problem and sometimes death. So, lets know the toxic foods.


Apple seed

Parrots, lovebird, cocktails, connures all love apple but be sure that there should be no apple seed with the apple pieces. Apple seeds as like cherry seeds contains cyanide. It can cause vomiting, indigestion and even death of your birds.

Onion

Some people tries to feed onions to parrots and cocktails but the compound in onions act like toxin to bird that compound damages the RBC of blood of birds. This can cause anemia and other serious health issues. Avoid the onion cutters also to cut any bird food.

Honey

Honey is good for human but not for birds. Honey contains high sugar level that only helps birds to become fatty and also it is very difficult for the birds to digest it. Some people likes to give some honey on soft food but they are only making their bird's health worse.

Dairy Products

Birds like parrots, budgies, finches just like dairy products. They are excellent source of calcium also but cheese deposits more facts than calcium in bird's body and its also very hard to digest for a birds.

Salty chips and biscuits

Some people give birds salty chips and biscuits the excessive salt in those foods increases sodium level of the blood of birds. Resulting increased heart rate and indigestion.

Citrus fruits

Don't give your birds citrus fruits regularly as they cause severe indigestion yes, you can give some oranges time to time but not more than twice at thrice a month.

Choclate

Choclate is very hard to digestion for a bird. It can cause vomiting and severe diarrhea. Don't give any food to your bird that you have eaten as our mouth contains lots of bacteria and virus. So, be aware of the foods you are giving to your birds.
