How to save your budgies in rainy season

Rainy season is a very harmful months for budgies and all birds. It causes lives of many in this article i am giving you four tips to protect your birds in rainy season.

1. Protect from rain water

Never let your bird get wet in rain water. It can cause different diseases like fever and cold. It could be deadly for birds. If your cage is in outside then cover it with plastic. If it is beside windows close the window while it is raining.

2. Protect from damp weather

If you have kept your bird's cage inside room which is damp then please hang a bulb (60- 100 watt) in the cage at night lime to keep them warm. This condition will become worse in rainy season as weather becomes too humid. Damp and cold weather kills birds very soon. So keep them warm night time with the use of a bulb.

3. Choose your veggies

In rainy season don give your birds leafy greens which born in water. As rain water comes in ponds and lakes contaminated with several bacteria and virus where these greens born so the greens also carries several pathogens and if you give your bird this geens unclean then there would be a high chance of infection so avoid amaranth, water spinach and other water greens.

4. Keep cage floor dry

You know that birds makes cage floor wet while bathing and pooing. In summer and winter cage floor remains dry due to dry weather but in rainy season cage floor remains damp and wet and this condition is a nice place for the breeding of pathogens so, one trick to make cage floor dry is to spread sands on it. Sand will soak the watery part and makes cage floor dry. It will stop the pathogens to breed.
