How to Care a Lovebird Properly

Lovebird is one of the nicest of all pet birds the only problem which them is to recognize the male and female only madagascar, abyssian and red faced love birds can be recognized easily. 1. Housing

Minimum 18''/18'' cage for one pair of birds the love fly and play. So dont give small cages never give round cages clean cage minimum once a week clean water and food dishes per day. Uneaten food and dirty water become the home of bacterias. Which can harm your bird.

2. Cleanliness

Friends always remember one thing that love birds loves cleanliness they remaines clean and also keeps their nest box very clean if you have brooding love birds then you can watch that the female excreates stool out of nest box so, its your prime duty to keep them and surroundings clean give your water and food feeder away form the perches. Because they will not take the food or water if there is stools in it. 

3. Perches

Never give artificial plastic perches in the cage give sundry original perches in the cage love birds rub their beak o nthe perches to remove the flakes from it this flakes creates problem in consuming food if it is allowed to accumulate for a longer period.

4. Grooming

In case of colony breeding dont cut the feathers of wings. As in colony there fights can happen any time. So, the weak bird cannot escape if you trim the feathers of wings in case of cage breeding you can trim the feathers of wings trim the nails of birds in every six months. But friend if you are a beginner then dont try to do it yourself. Take help from some experienced guy. Give a dish full of water twice a week for bath. They just love it. If it is not possible then spray water with sprayer gently twice a week.

5. Diet

Dont make your bird a food junkie. It only reduces his life span. Add vegetables and fruits on regular basis in veggies you can give spinach, lettuce, amaranth, cabbage, carrot, broccoli, cucumber and many others in fruits apple, banana, peach orange, guava etc give eggfood once a week. Give cuttlebone always in the cage.

6. No Threat

Keep your birds in a predator free zone there should not be any cats, dogs or rats they could become frustrated if there is threat and may die in fear. Keep silence and give privacy. Love bird like silence and privacy. Dont go before their cage now and then they become depressed and anxious this causes some disease to them. Specially give ultimate privachy to the newly bought birds. Let them settle first.
